October Tips

this month you should...

• Continue mowing on a weekly basis for the health of your grass.
• Plant mums.
• Mulch beds.
• It's still ok to plant rye seed.
• It's also still a prime time for landscaping.
• Clean your gutters before the winter rain begins.
• In the third week of October, begin planting winter color.
• Fall pre-emergents should not be applied after October.
• Apply lawn fertilizer and start  fertilizing your trees and shrubs.
• Insects should be gone so you can stop spraying for them.
• Sprinklers should be set to water 2 times per week.
