May Tips

this month you should...

  • Plant caladiums.
  • Plant summer annuals.
  • Wait until June to plant periwinkles.
  • Have new landscaping and grass installed.
  • Trim any branches that are hanging down on roof or hitting the side of your house.
  • Raise the mowing height of grass.
  • After they have bloomed, cut back azaleas and hawthorns.
  • Fertilize flowers every 3 months with slow release fertilizer, or every 3 weeks with super bloom.
  • Last call to fertilize trees.  It is not as effective past May.
  • Begin spraying for insects and continue spraying for fungus.
  • Sprinklers should be set to water early in the morning (4-5 a.m.) 2-3 times per week max.

I would absolutely recommend the team at Marlin for any commercial or residential project you are considering.  Chris and Chase took time to understand our needs, our wants and and our constraints to develop our ideal landscape system.  The quality solutions they provided were backed up with on time execution and a staff I could trust and depend on.
