January Tips

this month you should...

  • Remove seed pods from crape myrtles.
  • Plant spring bulbs- tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, etc.
  • Add mulch to your beds to prevent weeds, retain moisture and help protect roots from the cold weather.
  • Plant or transplant trees and shrubs.
  • Mow your lawn to even out the brown grass, which will give it a crisp appearance.
  • Plan to prepare your beds for spring landscapes.
  • Call us in January to prune your shade trees for a 20% discount.
  • Remove the mistletoe from trees.
  • Apply pre-emergent to lawn for weed control.
  • Spray dormant oil on fruit trees and plants that are prone to scale.
  • Sprinklers should be set to water 1 time in a 2 week period.  Rain/freeze sensors should be checked.

I would absolutely recommend the team at Marlin for any commercial or residential project you are considering.  Chris and Chase took time to understand our needs, our wants and and our constraints to develop our ideal landscape system.  The quality solutions they provided were backed up with on time execution and a staff I could trust and depend on.
